IT Support Specialist
IT Support / Motorbike Rider / Traveler
Hi, I'm Alex.
I'm an IT professional from Germany who ended up building a life in Thailand.
For the past 10 years, I've worked with people and technology, helping users overcome technical
challenges and keeping things moving behind the scenes.
When I'm not at a desk, there's a good chance I'm somewhere on a motorcycle, exploring roads I've never taken before
or searching for the next interesting place to visit.
Thanks for stopping by :)
Providing first and second-line assistance, resolving technical issues, and helping ensure reliable day-to-day IT operations.
Good support starts with clear communication. I enjoy helping users solve problems and making technology feel less complicated and stressful.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me on my motorbike, exploring new roads, capturing scenery, or sharing rides and experiences online.
About
Background, experience, and what drives me
Originally from Germany, I've been living and working in Thailand for over 7 years. What started as an adventure became a place I now call home. During that time, I've continued building my career in IT while also getting to experience a very different way of life. I've come to appreciate the friendliness of the people, the culture, and the more relaxed pace of everyday life here.
I currently work as a Client and Applications Administrator, where I spend most of my day helping users with technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and making sure things keep running as they should. Over the past 10 years, I've supported more than 2,000 users across multiple countries using Windows, Linux, and macOS systems.
What keeps IT interesting to me is the variety. No two days are exactly the same. Some days are straightforward, while others send you down a rabbit hole trying to track down the cause of a problem. I've had days where a single printer managed to consume several hours before finally deciding to cooperate again. During the last 7 years, I've handled around 140 to 180 tickets per month, while also supporting projects, maintaining documentation and helping users better understand the tools they work with every day.
One thing I've learned is that good IT support is about more than just fixing technical problems. People are often already frustrated when something isn't working, so taking the time to listen, explain things clearly, and stay calm can be just as important as finding the solution itself.
A gap year in Australia took me far away from office environments and computer screens. While working on livestock farms, I quickly learned that animals don't care about schedules, weekends, or whether you've already had a long day. There were times when a job simply needed to be finished before you could call it a day. Looking back, that experience strengthened my work ethic and taught me the importance of being dependable, especially when other people are counting on you.
When I'm not behind a computer, there's a good chance I'm out on my motorcycle somewhere around Chiang Mai. Sometimes it's a ride through the city at night, other times it's a trip into the mountains or along quiet country roads with no real destination in mind. I enjoy the freedom of being able to pick a direction, hit the road, and see where it leads.

I'm just getting started with content creation, so uploads may be a little slow at first. There's currently only a single video on Instagram and my YouTube channel is still empty, but more rides, travel clips, and scenery from around Thailand will be added over time.
